Kurt Dean Lord’s professional background connects legal advocacy with business experience. His career has included representing individuals in employment disputes, leading a commercial real estate brokerage, and working with investors and businesses on property transactions.
Kurt earned his Juris Doctor from Washington University in St. Louis School of Law, where he served on the law review board. He also holds a Master of Business Administration from the Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University and a Bachelor of Arts from SMU.
Admitted to practice in Missouri in 1993 and Illinois in 1994, Kurt spent a decade in plaintiff-side legal practice, including representing women in sexual harassment cases. His litigation experience includes representing plaintiffs in federal court proceedings in Missouri and Illinois.
Kurt’s business background includes founding Lord Partners and serving as managing director of SVN Lord Partners. His commercial real estate work has involved retail centers, single-tenant properties, development land, and medical and retail facilities. Earlier in his career, he worked for Procter & Gamble and Coca-Cola.
Kurt also owns and operates two hotels in Branson, Missouri. That experience gives him a firsthand understanding of the responsibilities of business ownership and hospitality operations.

He also served as Exalted Ruler of St. Louis Elks Lodge No. 9 from April 2020 through March 2021.
