How Lord Law Firm may assist
Lord Law Firm can discuss the legal issues behind your business plans, review relevant agreements, and help you evaluate practical options. The initial conversation identifies the people involved, the business’s location, the decision you need to make, and the scope of assistance that may be appropriate. Kurt’s experience running businesses informs his attention to how legal decisions affect day-to-day operations.
MO
Missouri considerations
The Missouri Secretary of State handles formation and registration filings for business entities. Those filings are one part of organizing a business; they do not replace an agreement among owners or an assessment of a particular transaction. For a Missouri matter, identify where the business was formed and where it operates, and gather its organizational documents before a detailed legal discussion.
IL
Illinois considerations
Illinois has its own Secretary of State business services and entity filing procedures. An entity formed elsewhere may have separate Illinois registration questions when it does business in the state. Tell Kurt about every state involved so that the discussion accounts for the business’s structure, activities, and relevant agreements.
Frequently asked questions
Can I discuss a business idea before forming a company?
Yes. An early conversation can focus on your goals, proposed ownership, and the legal questions to resolve before you proceed. Any representation and its scope must be agreed with the firm.
Should I bring my existing business documents?
For a scheduled discussion, ask the firm which organizational documents and agreements would be useful and how to share them securely. Do not attach confidential documents to an initial website inquiry.
Can one conversation cover both business and contract issues?
Business and contract questions often overlap. Briefly describe the transaction or disagreement so Kurt can identify the issues and discuss whether the firm can assist.
